Days Mikumi and Nyerere National Park Safari

After breakfast, depart Mikumi and drive south through beautiful landscapes, villages, and forests towards Nyerere National Park (Selous) u2014 Africau2019s largest wildlife reserve and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Arrive at your camp/lodge in the afternoon and enjoy lunch. In the evening, take a sunset boat safari along the Rufiji River, famous for its large populations of hippos, crocodiles, and water birds such as herons, kingfishers, and fish eagles. Enjoy the golden sunset view over the river before returning for dinner and overnight.

After an early breakfast, leave for a full-day game drive inside Nyerere National Park with a picnic lunch. Explore the parku2019s varied habitats u2014 from open plains and miombo woodlands to lakes and the Rufiji River system. Expect to encounter elephants, buffaloes, lions, giraffes, zebras, impalas, wildebeests, and possibly the rare African wild dogs.
